H11 is a grade of steel whose chemical composition includes a significant content of chromium (5% of the total weight) giving it very good mechanical properties. A popular alloy in the aerospace industry, the Tool Steel DIN 1.2343 Hex Bar  delivers excellent performance in those applications that need high impact toughness. One of the benefits of using this tool steel is its superior resistance to thermal fatigue cracking. Though the occurrence of thermal fatigue is often at cyclic temperatures, the development of cracks is possible even without the application of loads. The development of cracks may be detrimental to critical applications. In such critical instances, the resistance properties of the H11 Steel Round Bar are highly appreciated. In addition to good impact strength, this chromium containing alloy will resist gross cracking and thermal shock in the event of the H11 tool steel round bar  being cooled by water. Its resistance to cracking gives the material advantage over several classes of steel alloys. For applications that require hot tooling, the UNS T20811 Flat Bar  would be a perfect fit. This means the properties of the alloy permit it to be used in applications like die casting dies, hot punches,  hot gripper dies, and forging dies. This low carbon containing H11 Round Bar  may also be used in other tooling applications such as hot shear blades, as well as extrusion tooling.

  • Soft annealing °C : 750-800
  • Cooling : Furnace
  • Hardness : Max. 230HB
  • Stress-relief annealing °C : 600-650 approx.
  • Hardening : 1000-1030 °C
  • Quenching : Air, saltbath or oil, 500 -550°C
  • Hardness after quenching HRC : 54
