Aluminum is alloyed with elements like silicon and magnesium to form alloy 6063, similar to a British variation aluminum alloy grade HE9. Aluminum has excellent ductility and malleability which is why it is possible to use the 6063 Aluminum Sheet to make complicated shapes. This is also why many businesses, in particular, the architecture industry uses the alloy. The strength of the grade 6063 Aluminum Plate is good, but the hardness could be improved by the use of heat treatments. Tempering the material could benefit the alloy. Some of the more common temper treatments include O, T1, T4, T5 &T6. The temper given to the alloy will influence its mechanical properties. For instance, the ultimate tensile strength of a tempered grade 6063-t5 Aluminum Plate is a minimum of about 140 MPa. On the other hand, 6063-t6 Aluminum Plate , which is given temper T6 has a minimum ultimate tensile strength of 190 MPa. Though the material has moderate tensile strength, its uses include home treatments like window frames, roofs, door frames, and stair railings amongst other architectural projects. The corrosion resistance properties of the 6063 Aluminium Plate are good. And therefore, they work wonderfully in such environments where they do not have to react with harsh chemicals or high strength.
